How to use disk eject
Note: On Windows NT, this facility requires that your user account has Administrator privileges.
Ejecting removable disks is a very convenient facility which makes it possible to
work faster, safer and easier. It is much safer to use this software eject facility than
to use the eject button on your removable disk drive, because Windows may
employ a "lazy disk caching strategy". This may lead to data corruption if you use
the physical eject button at the wrong time, causing the disk to be ejected before the
file buffers are written to the disk.
The disk eject facility in Zip Explorer solves this problem by always forcing the
system to "flush" the file buffers before ejecting the disk.
There are 3 ways to use the disk eject facilities:
- In the Tools menu, choose "Eject Removable Disks"
- When you catalog a disk, you can choose to have the disk ejected after cataloging.
- When you launch a file on an offline disk, you can choose to eject removable disks.
